I'm not always a brand loyal customer, I like to try new and different things or just buy what's 'cost effective' (read: on sale). However if your stuff is bangin', I'll be here to sing your praises. I love to cook, however some nights I just don't have the energy and I'm always looking for fast, tasty, healthy ways to get a complete meal on the table. I made an incredibly tasty Indian vegetable curry the other night using a sauce bought from Trader Joes. And oooh-whee tonight I tried some new products and made a fab spaghetti dinner that was vegetarian, healthy and organic (which is usually the criteria for my cooking anyways). First, the pasta... Trader Joe's Multigrain pasta with flax (for that extra dose of omega fatty acids...) was perfectly al dente and not too hard like some whole grain pastas. There's supposed to be a Trader Joe's opening up in downtown Brooklyn... I can't wait! Meanwhile I haul my behind to Manhattan every once in a while to stand in the long lines. Anyways, I sauteed up some onions, a yellow squash I had in the fridge, some chopped up spinach and veggie ground meat, then added Bertolli's Olive Oil, Basil and Garlic organic pasta sauce. I love how our local Met Supermarket is stocking more organic items and was surprised to find this one on sale. Even Mr. Pickyeater the Toddler ate the sauce sans pasta (triumph for Mommy who got to sneak those veggies into his system..)
